Quilts And The Man In The Moon

Hi Everybody,

I bet you all (if you’re over 40) remember where you were the day Man first walked on the Moon! I was in a log cabin in Michigan’s UP and there couldn’t have been a greater contrast. We were sitting in a cabin gathered around a portable 12″ TV watching history and swatting mosquitoes. Later that night, on my way to the outhouse ! it seemed unbelievable that not only did we have an outhouse but also that people were actually on the Moon that I was looking at.

Continuing in a similar vein, Frances Kinder has made a really wonderful Space quilt and we will have kits for it at the Nook. It would be a unique way to commemorate the event for a youngster or not so youngster interested in Space. By the way Frances is the proud Grandmother of a NASA employee who helped get the Space Shuttle off the ground. I’m sure he’ll appreciate the gift. Be sure to look at the quilting when you’re in the store. Rhonda McQueen has done a great job again and has quilted rockets and space ships into the sky. It’s a must see.

In our free moments during the Shop Hop? we did some housekeeping and realized that several Vikings have become “squatters” in the back room. We have remedied that situation and with a little counseling on our part, they are ready-nay-anxious to find new loving homes. The prices on these machines are so fantastic that we can’t list them on the net. Call the Nook at 765-962-7678 or e-mail us at stitchingnook@verizon.net to find out.

We have two DI s with about 300 hours each on them. That means the machine is almost unused. They are disk drive embroidery machines. These machines are wonderful just for sewing if you’re not interested in embroidery. In fact, that’s just what I’ve kept mine for. I love it.

We have 2 DII s also. Great condition.

Sapphire 870– this was traded for an embroidery machine and is almost brand new. This machine has the longer arm and is great for quilting.

Emerald 183 This little guy is only 1 yr. old and was traded in so the owner could move up the line. A nice beginner machine for the 4-H sewer or for someone who really just wants to piece quilts, mend or make the occasional purse.

And the jewel in the crown, we have a DI with a USB port that we are closing out. This is a great buy and goes with a new warranty and all accessories. This must be seen to be believed.

As always, these little beauties come with new owner classes and our continued support. We at the Nook all try hard to stay abreast of the latest news and technology from Viking—-to pass along to you.

That’s my news until next week when I hope you’ll all be thinking red, green and white.

Mary
