Class updates for the week of Sept. 21st

Hi Everyone,

We got some great new fabrics in this week. We have Holly Taylor’s fall line from MODA called “Migration.” This line has light and dark greens and browns and reds with a wonderful fall “feel”. Leafy and tree-y and we have a pattern from This and That to use them. I also think you could use them in several of the past books from the same company. A really cute line that also came is called “Woodland Quilters”. It features forest animals and quilting themes. We have a free pattern to go with this collection. My favorite “critter” on the fabric is a bear floating downstream in an innertube with her bottom dangling through. She’s towing a log raft with all her shop hop purchases on board. Too cute!

We have a few class updates for you. Don’t forget the Take 5 Start to Finish class will be starting soon. Sept. 30th to be exact. This class will meet for 5 weeks and you will make a lap size quilt from start to finish including quilting and binding. If you have never made a quilt before and have always been longing to try, this is your class and your time.

You can pick out your own fabrics prior to class and we will cut the pieces for you using our new Accu-quilt die cutter. This way you can start sewing in the first class. The class fee is $48.00 and includes the pattern and your instruction. The very capable instructor is Pam.

The Foot of the Month class is full to overflowing and we have set up an extra class that will meet on Mon. Sept. 28. Diana and I will get together to pick out a date in Oct. when the second class will meet and we will announce this at the first class. Confused? me too but the point is we still have spaces available in the Sept. 28th class if you still want to come. The cost is $10.00 per class.

Batting Buddy has also overflowed and second sessions have been set up to accommodate everyone. That will happen on Oct.2 and 9 at 2 or 6 p.m. The fee is $40.00 and includes the tool and pattern. Spaces are still available in this second sitting. Linda is your instructor.

Well, as always I have a stack of sewing I want to do. A customer brought in a tile scene of a covered bridge from Anita Goodesign that was just beautiful. Makes me want to start it right now. You know there just aren’t enough hours in the day. I’d give up sleeping if it didn’t make me even crabbier. I’m starting to channel Maxine (drawn by a man!) as it is.

Until next time,

Mary
