New fabric in the Fall

Hi Everyone,

Another week at the Nook and another group of beautiful fabrics have arrived. This week we got a Moda grouping called Evening Mist. These are really lovely tonal prints in neutral colors, but with delicate floral prints. Really lovely. Then, from Moda we also got a group called Blessings. These are from the designers Brannock and Paddock are blues, reds and tans. They are certainly different prints from Kansas Troubles but would work with those fabrics. Last but not least we have a new line from Atkinson that is bright and cheerful orangey reds, turquoises and tans to golds. I almost forgot, we have a Benartex line called Montana Modern which features a panel of animal and bird silohuettes and fabrics to accent the panel. Blacks, reds, and olive tones. There are free patterns on the Benartex website. You’re missing out if you don’t stop in to see all the goodies!

Classes are still on the horizon. The Grids and Grommets purse class is coming up on Tues. and there is a Cutwork Embroidery workshop on Fri. Night and Day, an Eleanor Burns book, is on the agenda as a workshop on Sat. and then again on Mon. the 19th. I see Christmas projects here.

Dianne Kaucher who makes some beautiful models for us is at it again and has really fallen in love with the new Whimsical book called “Pumpkins and Spice”

We have the panel and some of the co-ordinates featured in the book. Dianne has made two projects and is working on a third. These are really cute and you should give them a look. They are fall projects rather than Halloween and have kitties and sunflowers as a theme.

I guess that’s all the news that’s fit to print this week, hope you’re enjoying the fall colors and the (now) drier weather. I always think of Fall as my last chance to enjoy the outdoors and take a deep breath before plunging into the busyness of the holidays. Besides, there’s always lots of bird watching to do as the water fowl begin their migrations. Brookville Lake is a wonderful place to see geese, swans, gulls, sandhill cranes, coots, cormorants and of course, my favorite, loons, from now until late Nov. That’s usually where I can be found on Sun. mornings or weekday eves. Hope all of you find lots to enjoy every day. Until next time,

Mary
