Pumpkins and Spice
Hi Everyone,
Finally, some sunshine! Boy, not even winter yet and I’m hoping for one last week of Indian Summer. I’ve already scraped ice off the windshield once. I know, I know, if only I attached a garage to my house……. Anyway, we have a great book with an accompanying panel called Pumpkins and Spice by the Whimsical designers that is really cute. The book has many neat ideas including one for a great wool hat. The ladies who design the Whimsical fabrics, books and patterns are from Indiana by the way. Just a little FYI I knew you couldn’t live without.
We have a new grouping from MODA called Essence. It’s rather unique with a floral panel and several bolts to accent and go with it. I would call the colors modern fall. They’re orange, turquoise, browns and deep reds. The colors aren’t bright but they are deep. By that I don’t mean the colors are stupid or necessarily introspectrive, we’re talking color values here people! I think the fabrics will be fun to play with.
By the way, Thurs., Fri., and Sat., Oct. 29-31 will be our annual “model” sale when all the employees sell our extra store and or class models. Yes, Virginia, it is possible to have too many sewn/quilted items. This is when we sell those things that we absolutely had to make or we would just die but really didn’t have one spot in our house or our long-suffering children’s houses where they could live. I mean, at my house alone, the youngest grandchild has about 10 quilts and he’s only 7 months old. Did I mention there are about 6 more in the planning stage? So, we are offering our surplus wares to all of you. Hopefully it will help with your Christmas shopping. Enjoy!!
Well, until next time, happy sewing,
Mary
