Where the Deer Play
Hi Everyone,
As the corn and the beans are coming down, the numbers of deer we see in the country are going up and up and yet again up. Boys will be boys and when they are in “rut”, we all know which brain is in charge! But, nevertheless, they are beautiful and we have a beautiful panel depicting a small herd of bucks. Every hunter’s dream and so much more attractive hanging on your wall than a mounted head. I’m just saying. It would be lovely over a fireplace or in the den and those sad glass eyes wouldn’t be following you around the room. This panel really only needs a border and a little quilting to become a favorite gift.

Deer Panel
I know that this past summer’s shop hop fabric was very popular and I thought, very pretty. There is a new book on the market called Gorgeous Quilts for Gracious Living and it has many quilts made from the shop hop fabric and ideas showing other fabrics and colors. The nice thing about this book is that it has multiple sizes of quilts, pillows, tablerunners and even chair covers. It also shows in its many color pictures, innovative ways to use the objects you make. I like a book that has more than one idea or more than one project that I want to make. This one certainly fits that bill.

Gorgeous Quilts
Well, that’s my news for this week. Put on your little pointy-toed elf shoes, put in a new rotary cutter blade and get started on Christmas sewing! My little people already put in requests for new pillowcases because, “Grandma, I just sleep better on your pillowcases because every night I remember how much you love me.” Could they use one for every day? Love to sew and sew with love –it could be a better world.
Until next time,
Mary
