Words on the 10th of Jan.

Hello All,

I don’t know about being a holiday reveler, but I’m reveling in having the holidays over! By next year though, I’ll be ready to enjoy Christmas again.

Hope you all enjoyed the snow days as much as I did! It was sort of nice to sit back with a big cup of hot chocolate and watch it snow and blow. I’m over that too however–when is Spring exactly? Seriously, when the weather is bad i.e. lots of snow or ice or big time drifting, call before you trek to the store. Remember that all of us live in the country except for Frances and even she has to be able to get out of her driveway. We do our best to be there for you, but no one should risk their lives for some fabric or thread. You can always contact us for questions by e-mailing us at stitchingnook@verizon.net. It gets checked several times a day even on days that we are closed. Do a little pre-planning and stock-up on thread and some of the basics and when the weather outside is frightful, you can sew, sew, sew!

Valentine’s Day is on the horizon, and we have several cute ideas for Cupid gifts. Just finished a bag that uses a carpenter’s metal ruler for a closure. Very cute! Very quick and only uses fat quarters! I’m sure my grandaughters will each love one filled with candy hearts! We also have patterns for pot pinchers (small pot holders) that just your fingers fit into. Pam has made some neat models, check them out. Pillowcases and tablemats are also popular. Linda is working on a tortilla/potato steamer. Just an idea, but some of these little gifts cost little more than a nice card and last much longer and mean much more.

Don’t forget that the Mardi-Gras Shop Hop is coming soon and it certainly looks like its going to be a lot of fun. Passports will be $5.00 before the Hop starts and $6.00 once it begins. A fun way to beat the winter blahs.

I hear my machine calling me (working on a new block of the month) and just have to answer! Hope you’re having good sewing weather and remember that Spring really will return and then we’ll be griping about rain and mud and bad storms…………….

Until later,

Mary
