Valentine’s Day 2010
Happy Valentine’s Day!
I’m never really sure how the saint who was stoned to death became the symbol of romance—oh wait, maybe I can! Anyway, have a good one! The funniest thing that happened at our house was that I made sugarless brownies for my honey as a surprise. He surprised me by getting me “Brownies to Die For” from the market at Dorothy Lane. Something about great minds…….
Gosh, what a week! Snowstorms, SuperBowl sales, shop hops, the beginning of the Olympics and more snow in the forecast. Who said February was drab and boring? The new class schedule goes to the printer this week and soon lots of new models will be arriving in the store. The class list has some new things and some repeats of the tried and true. They should all be up on the web soon. Fabric is coming into the store at an almost frightening rate and soon, will be on the floor. I think you’ll be surprised at some of it and delighted by much, but all are really neat.
It’s not too late to take part in the Shop Hop. There are only 9 shops and it is a good excuse for a road trip. Shake off the homebound blues. The worst thing about being snowbound is having time to look around and see all the cleaning that should be done. Usually, I ignore it by telling myself I don’t have time and truthfully, don’t care. Books and sewing and birds will always take precedence—and grandkids of course. Still I suppose, I should take a mo and get the creche put away…
If you have not signed up for the Sue Hausmann event coming in May, I urge you not to procrastinate any longer. Space is becoming limited and soon we’ll be sold out. I think it will be a very exciting event and having taken classes from Sue, I can tell you that she is very personable and interesting. I’m sure looking forward to it. So get off the chair or least reach for the phone and get signed up now!!
Hope you all have a nice Valentine’s Day and remember how much the staff at the Nook just luuuvvvv all of you! Come see us soon.
Until later,
mary
