Spring Flowers? Feb 28

Hi Everyone,

Ready for Spring? Flowers are blooming everywhere at the Nook! We have several new lines on the floor now. One is a pastel pink and green called “Peony”. We have a great new line from Whimsicals featuring butterflies. (Trivia alert: Many cultures thought that butterflies carried messages from earth to heaven. The Irish thought that small white butterflies were the souls of children.) I just like their beautiful colors! For the horse lovers, we have two new lines. One features horses running free and the other is called “Midnight Cowboy”. No, Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman are not on the fabric but I do hear faint strains of Nilson whenever I’m cutting it. Of course, we also have new patterns and books to go with them. Beat the blahs and stop in to see them.

Some of you have been dropping off pillowcases at the store and we really appreciate that! The pillowcases will be donated locally and we have pledged 100. They can be for men, women or children and you can use fabrics from your stash. We have set up two days when you can stop by the store to sew them and have some fun with friends while you’re at it! Call the Nook for details.

All the new classes are up on the website and hopefully, we’ll have hard copies soon. The models are slowly going up in the store and actually spots in the classes are filling up. Classes are a great way to beat the boredom of long snowy days that never seem to end and every day they keep saying more snow showers and white is all you see and walking around is a pain and………….

Ok, we’ve covered it all. The Olympics are over and its time to stop being a couch potato and armchair quarterback. I personally am certain that I’m eminently qualified to judge figure skating even though I’m completely unable to stand up on skates. Now its time to get busy and start turning out those quilts, purses, wallhangings and tablerunners. Learn a new technique and keep on growing!

Til later,

Mary
