Sprung Spring 4-18
Hello fellow fabri-holics,
First of all, let us thank you for all the pillowcases! I think we have in the neighborhood of 135. Just think, that’s 135 people who are going to know that someone is thinking of them and wishing them well. Keep up the good work! We are still giving one yard of sale fabric for every four pillowcases that are brought in.
Diana is done with her Spring round of quilt shows and demos, so be looking forward to seeing some really spiffy new tools and gadgets. She has one new cutting tool that makes diamonds. No, not the sparkly ones, but pretty cool on fabric. You’ll like it. I think it could be used on some of the block borders for the Foot of the Month blocks. Hmmmmmm………
Hark back to the craziness that was this Christmas Past. We stuffed Christmas stockings per your orders. Well, you know Mother’s Day is on the horizon and what could be more fun than choosing some of your own special mom gifts? Be watching your e-mails for details (and shopping opportunities.)
We have gotten some really interesting books into the store lately. We have a new book (which will be a class in the fall!), that is called “Bed Runners” It uses precut fabrics (or stash) to make a bed-sized table-runner like quilt. The idea is that these would be decorative and functional. They would be extra warmth for cold feet, a place to sit on the bed without ruining a large quilt and in the case of the children’s runner, an extra storage spot for that favorite book or teddy. A great way to try out a pattern or to make a gift for someone without dedicating all your time to a large quilt. You also won’t be so mad when they tell you the dog peed on it. The book is chock-full of ideas and sells for under $10.00. Hot damn!! The bed-runner theme is carried on in a book called “Patchwork comforters, throws, and quilts.” This book also has several bed-runner patterns as well as many just plain neat quilts. Several new purse patterns have shown up as well, so stop in and check out the new stuff.
Well, time to try out one of those new purse patterns. Take time to smell the flowers, avoid the bees and poison ivy and I’ll see you soon,
Mary
