Mother’s Day blog 5-9

Hello All,

Happy Mother’s Day to one and all! I’m sure that if you’re not mommy to a child, you have certainly fullfilled the mommy role for someone (probably your husband) and so deserve the recognition this Hallmark holiday calls for. Ignore any implied sarcasm. I truly hope you have a great day!

Hope you’re all pumped for the Great Sue Hausmann Event on Tues. !! You will receive name tags, goodie bags and have your picture taken with Sue upon arrival. The event, if you haven’t heard, takes place at the Holiday Inn and begins at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will be served in the Underground and I ferreted out the info that there will be homemade potato chips and a chocolate dessert. Oh frabjous day!!

We have gotten some new batiks from MODA and they were designed by Edyta Sitar. They are really pretty and if I can get rid, I mean if my beloved children happen to leave early, I can get some work done on a new quilt featuring the batiks. We have a lot of new patterns arriving and several feature purses, bedrunners, and small wallhangings. There is a new pattern featuring the carpenter’s ruler. It’s a cosmetic size bag with boxed corners and french seams and there is a pocket inside. I added some piping to jazz it up! If you enjoy making these uniquely closed bags, this is a great pattern. I’ll be making some more for gifts and they take all of about an hour!

We’re looking forward to another exciting week at the Nook. Hope to see you there!

Until next time,

Mary
