May 5-16
Hello all
Gosh, this was the week that was! Does anyone else remember that old show. I’m thinking it was on in the ’60’s. I digress. It was quite a week! Sue Hausmann, of course, was the highlight! By the way, all of the special orders have been placed and we await the gods of shipping to receive them. Sacrifices involving small paper cuts have been made, so hopefully we’ll be receiving them soon. We’ll be calling youhoohoohoo as soon as they arrive. Lots of classes finished out the week, as well as re-organzing the store to some semblence of normal.
Speaking of the store, (smooth segue, huh), we got some interesting layer cakes this week. MODA has come out with cakes of their “marbles” Sound confusing? MODA has a line of textured solids known as “MODA Marbles”. They have put them up into layer cakes in groups. Brights, pastels, darks, etc. We thought this would be neat for applique because you could get a variety of colors and 10″ squares will go pretty far in most applique patterns. Anyway, stop in and check them out. I have already acquired a few. I know, I know, big surprise!
Now that the big event is over, the nookies are back at work on models and new ideas. Diana and I are working on some small appliques and purses. Of course, Christmas fabrics will be arriving soon and that opens a whole new can of worms. But really, its best to get started early ’cause the fat man will be sliding down that chimney sooner than we like to think. Quilt Market is this week and soon our wonderful reps will be beating a path to the door with all things new and exciting. There’s always something to look forward to at the Nook. Come see us soon.
’til next time ttfn (ta ta for now)
Mary
